CANTINE DEI
The Dei wine estate is divided into four vineyards: Bossona, Martiena, La Ciarliana and La Piaggia. The soil and the exposition is perfect for the production of Vino Nobile.
The soil of the vineyards where the Nobile grapes grow has different characteristics: in Martiena it is medium-textured, while in Bossona, where the winerie’s cru is produced, the soil is tufaceous, slimy and quite barren.
The winery produces Vino Nobile di Montepulciano with the typical grapes of the region: Prugnolo Gentile, Canaiolo Nero and Mammolo. Shoot thinning and a selective pruning of grape bunches limit the average production per hectare.
The average early production is about 60,000 bottles of Nobile di Montepulciano, 20,000 bottles of Nobile Riserva, 40,000 bottles of Rosso di Montepulciano and an extremely limited quantity of a special blend Sancta Catharina .
The main aim of the Dei is to produce high quality wines that represent the terroir and to promote the original distinct grape varieties of the region in the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
