Wine Weekend in Florence Program

Florence is an internationally-known center of gastronomic marvels, hosting a vast array of culinary specialties and wine labels known globally. This amazing Renaissance city offers a wide range of tastes, aromas, and sights to absorb, providing the perfect background for your rejuvenating enogastronomic three-day weekend in Florence.
Entrusting Le Baccanti with the organization of your long weekend escape is a guaranteed way to ensure a relaxing, memorable weekend in one of the most picturesque parts of the country. Our weekend getaway will provide you with just enough structure on your weekend for planned activities, but also plenty of free-time so you don't feel like every minute of your weekend is already planned.  We want to make sure that you relax, reboot and restore yourself without having to organize any special details.  

Our long weekend package can be scheduled for you at any point during the year, and we would be happy to work around your calendar.  There are annual food and wine festivals taking place year-round which can be interesting to include in your long weekend. We would be happy to provide recommendations and suggestions on our personal favorite places to see in Tuscany.  

The Tuscan region, and Florence in particular, are sure to provide you with enough inspiration to turn your weekend into an unforgettable getaway from the daily grind.  Le Baccanti offers wonderful activities and courses throughout the country, focusing on food, wine, culture and off-the-beaten-path activities.  Our experience will make your experience the most amazing it can be! 


Day 1 - Arrival in Florence
Arrival at your charming 4-star hotel in Florence.  Your hotel offers wonderful client service, inviting decor, and excellent location in the heart of Florence.  You will be checked-in for 3 nights in a Superior-level room(s).  We have also included the single supplement in groups with odd numbers of participants to avoid any surcharges.
Your day continues with when you meet with your local English-speaking food and wine expert who will lead you on your personalized Wine and Gourmet Food Walk through Florence’s exciting historic city center.  Your guide, who has ample experience seeking out the finest of Florence’s terrific selection of gourmet products, will be able to guide you through the overwhelming quantity of top-notch gourmet shops specializing in locally-produced specialties.  Depending on your scheduled tour, there could be tastings of seasonal delicacies, and in-house special products.  You will also enjoy a wine-tasting in a locally-owned and run wine bar specializing in Tuscan wines.
Please check with your guide for restaurant referrals and any further information you’ll need with relation to culinary requests.

Day 2 - Joinable Cooking Course with MaMa Florence
Your second day will commence with your arrival at MaMa Florence, the delightful cooking  located in the historic city center of Florence.  This accommodating space is staffed by wonderful Resident Chefs who will lead you through the preparation of a full 4-course traditional (and modern) Italian meal.  Depending on your preferences, the course can include a wide range of menus featuring handmade fresh pasta, pizza, meat and poultry, or fresh seafood. The following seated meal with be composed of the dishes you’ve prepared, alongside your paired local wines, water and coffee.  The courses are generally joinable, and provide an excellent learning opportunity in a welcoming, hospitable environment.
Once your cooking course concludes around 2:30pm, you will have the remainder of the afternoon free to explore Florence, or visit some other parts of Tuscany.

Day 3 - Chianti Wine Tour
Your last day will begin when your private English-speaking driver will retrieve you from your hotel in your private luxury vehicle.  You will delight in the day focusing on one of the most recognizable, most delicious wines in the world, Chianti Classico wines.  Your full-day tour includes guided visits and tastings in two excellent and very different producers.  Your first visit will be to an amazing Tuscan castle with a fully-functioning wine cellar, whereas the second winery will be to a much smaller, family-run wine producer with a limited production of sublime Chianti Classico wines they will happily share with you.  The day also includes a stop for a delicious lunch in a local restaurant specializing in regional dishes. All winery tours will be with expert English-speaking winery staff eager to share their insider knowledge with you on your full day of touring the Chianti countryside.  Your driver will be sure to include a self-guided stop to one of the several Chianti towns (Greve, Castellina or Panzano, for instance) to allow for ample exploration time and some shopping in this beautiful town center.  
Following your wine tour, you will be free to spend a little time shopping and exploring the historic city center of Florence.  You might want to take this time to be sure to extend your food and wine experience by doing a little searching for regional delicacies to bring back to your friends and family.
Please note that check-out times from the majority of hotels is in the morning, although you will likely be able to leave any small luggage with your hotel during your last day in Florence.
