What our guests say

As we were planning our trip to Genoa in the summer, I contacted Le Baccanti ahead of time. Our guide met us in our designed meeting point, and away we went! We hiked longer and farther than I thought I was capable of but I am so glad I did not give up!! What views from the places our guide took us. We would have never found these places without him! Our 10 year-old son had no problem keeping up with our guide, an even tasted new seafood dishes during our amazing lunch!! I can not wait to visit Cinque Terre again one day and will definitely call Le Baccanti to organize another go!

Cinque Terre Walking Tour Program

The Cinque Terre: five stunning towns perched on seaside cliffs overlooking the sparkling Mediterranean Sea.  Breathtaking vistas await you around every bend on the trail connecting the five towns as you hike through vineyards and olive groves in the most picturesque part of the Italian Riviera.

The full-day Cinque Terre Wine & Walking Tour allows you to visit these small fishing villages, famously connected in older times exclusively by a winding, steep, rock-laden and root-crossed trail lasting 8 hours of trekking time beginning to end.  A rattling steam railway was built along the coast to link the towns in 1904-08.  The trains still run, but they are happily no longer powered by steam!

Booking the Cinque Terre Wine and Walking Tour will allow you to experience these towns in their most natural, outdoor, rustic beauty and will leave you with long-lasting images and memories.  Each village has a distinct character, and offers different amenities.  Your knowledgeable, friendly English-speaking tour guide specializing in outdoor excursions will take care of you for the full-day tour, and tell you more about these unique villages.

In one of the villages you'll meet Walter, a passionate wine producer whose lilliputian cellar is hidden in the doorway of a steep stairwell.  You will taste his lovely, unusual wine,  available exclusively for your tasting during your Cinque Terre Wine & Walking Tour due to his small output!  You will also enjoy a delicious lunch of traditional Ligurian food in a beautiful restaurant overlooking the dramatic sea below.

During the day, if you wish to further customize your tour, your guide will be able to help you move around the different towns using the local trains and even the public boats which hop from one town to another.

Please be sure to let us know your fitness level upon booking, and your tour preference so we can plan your day perfectly.
