TESTIMONIALS
The trip you put together was beyond expectations. The Piedmont wine tour and guide were very knowledgeable and friendly, three great wineries. Nice to have the small, medium and large. I liked Barolo and the other towns we visited in Piedmont. Very different from Tuscany, the comparison was interesting. Best regards - Joe Serieno

Barolo Wine Tour Program
Your discovery of Piedmont's top wine, Barolo, begins when your friendly English-speaking chauffeur greets you at your place of stay the morning of your private Barolo wine tour. First up, a visit to the town of Alba (Italian for "dawn"), a world capital of wine and truffles since Julius Caesar's day. Then you will be off to the bountiful, pulsing heartland of the Barolo wine region. Your first winery visit is to one of the region's most highly-rated wineries, and includes a guided visit to the cellars and a guided wine tasting of the estate's outstanding wines. The second town you will visit is Barolo itself. The historical town center is a great fortification, with the rest of the town huddling up against it for protection. The powerful Falletti clan reigned here from the middle of the thirteenth to the end of the seventeenth centuries. An exhibition of local vines is housed in the castle's rooms. You can have a delicious lunch in a local trattoria just a very short walk from the center. In the afternoon you will enjoy a second round of Barolo tastings and enhance your appreciation of this area's renowned wines at a small family-run winery known for excellence.
Barolo The King
Barolo is the undisputed king of Italian red wines. Both of the most celebrated Piedmont reds, Barolo and Barbaresco, are made from the Nebbiolo grape that yields deeply perfumed, mid-weight, wines with good aging potential. Among the other noteworthy Piedmont wines are the incisive, vibrant Barbera and the softer, lusher Dolcetto. The best wines of this area were made famous by Marc de Grazia's "Selection of Fine Wines from The Great Crus Of Italy", among many others Scavino, Cavallotto, Clerico, Altare and Molino. Besides wine, Piedmont is known for its culinary treasures including aromatic truffles and several variations of strong goat and mountain-sheep cheeses...the stuff of connoisseurs' dreams.
