The day’s Amalfi Wine Tour begins after your driver collects you at your place of stay and takes you to your first visit: one of the best cellars on the Amalfi coast, taking pride in the denomination Costa D'Amalfi. You will tour the Amalfitan vineyard with a guide who will explain how the grapes are grown and harvested on these steep hillsides, and will then show you the cellars and explain how the wines are made. A guided tasting will give you an insight into the estates production and the wines of Amalfi. You will have a chance to visit a nearby village and have lunch at a delicious osteria featuring mouthwatering fresh-caught seafood. In the afternoon a visit to another estate, either in Furore or in nearby Ravello, will help you further understand these unique wines and bring your relaxing day to a close. Extreme Viticulture on the Amalfi Coast The leading wine producers are found outside the town of Furore. Their vineyards spread out on daring terraces carved over the course of centuries out of the steep slopes that run down to the sea. Their cellars have been excavated since before Caesar’s times out of the solid hillside rock. White wines with strong personality are made here, whites with their own intense and unmistakable aromas, whites from vines teased and frenzied by the moist salty sea winds that never quite cease to ripple leaves.
