Lawrence Private Expert Wine Guide Day Tour
Experience a Tuscan wine region as very few people do, with your own private wine expert to guide you throughout the day! Lawrence is a professional winemaker and has been living in Tuscany for many years. He knows everything there is to know about the top Tuscan wines such as Chianti, Brunello, Vernaccia, Nobile and all the other wines from this incredible region chalk full of vineyards and cantinas just waiting to be discovered.
You will meet Lawrence in an easy to find location and set off to find your first winery. After deciding upon a wine region to focus on based on where you are staying and your desires, Lawrence will have arranged for wonderful vineyard and cantina visits to top wineries. On this full day excursion, you can visit at least two wineries, possibly three! Lawrence will give you all the background information necessary to fully appreciate what you are experiencing. He will be with you during the guided cantina visit to answer any questions, and then help you to compare and contrast the different wines you have tasted throughout the day. There is no better way to fully appreciate Tuscan wine than with the services of a friendly, native English speaker guiding you through each step. He can even help you purchase and ship home wines to enjoy in the comfort of your own dining room!
A Little About Lawrence
Lawrence D. grew up in Paris, France, and was educated John Cabot International College in Rome (1974-1976), at Yale College (B.A. in History,Magna cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, 1979) and Harvard University (M.A., History, 1981). One of his four reading subjects at Harvard was Italian Medieval History. After working for an Italian Art Publishing company in Milano (Electa) and becoming the European agent of the Medieval and Renaissance music ensemble The Boston Camerata, Lawrence finally took the wine plunge, first working in the wine distribution and retail sectors in Miami, Florida, before moving back to his adopted Italy to learn winemaking at Kendell-Jackson's Chianti Classico estate, Tenuta di Arceno, in the heart of Tuscany. From 1998 until 2006, Lawrence was the winemaker and director of the boutique Chianti Classico winery Villa Casale. He is currently a Wine Production Consultant, Winemaking and Tasting guide, as well as cultural and historical guide throughout Italy. Lawrence is fluent in English, French, Italian, Spanish, and German. He lives in Florence.

What's Not Included in Your Expert Wine Guide Service
Transportation is not included. You must rent a car or chauffeur service for your day with Lawrence (the second is available from us if desired). He will meet you in a convenient location or at your first stop of the day. You are responsible for arriving at all locations on the itinerary which will be sent to you complete with addresses once the wine area has been chosen and the visits arranged.
