TESTIMONIALS
Thank you so much for organizing our riding trip. The view from the trail was breathtaking. Horses were chilled out but willing and there was lots to to see. The ride itself was one of the best I've ever experienced. I would highly recommend this wonderful experience on horseback to the inexperienced (as the horses are very safe and quiet and the guides are extremely helpful and knowledgeable). Horse Riding near Florence Program

The hills surrounding Florence are some of the lovliest in all of Tuscany. Lush and green and filled with mystery and romance; the countryside is perfect for horse riding. This is an excellent horseback ride for experienced riders, and is located within half an hours drive from Florence. Your guide will take you off the beaten track, into the tuscan countryside via white roads, and old pilgrim trails- passing through olive groves and Chianti vineyards.
The closer you get to something, the richer your experience. Tuscany is no exception to this. You can enjoy Chianti vineyards from a tour bus, but tasting a sangiovese grape straight from the vine whilst your calm Italian horse grazes quietly, is an experience that will remain with you forever.
Horse riding in Tuscany should be on your checklist of things to do before you die.

There is nothing quite like enjoying the sounds and smells of an earthy Tuscan morning on horseback. Riding down these old trails, you are quite literally following in the footsteps (or hoofprints) of ancient populations like the Etruscans, who rode the same trails thousands of years ago on their mighty war horses.
Horses have always been important to Tuscan people. This is demonstrated by the winged horse sculptures discovered during the excavation of Tarquinia (Etruscan Civita) as well as the numerous tomb paintings of beautiful equines throughout Etruria.
Today the descendent's of the Etruscan horses, continue to thrive semi-feral in south Tuscany. The maremmano breed is a rugged and handsome horse used for cattle work by the last Italian cowboys - the butteri.
Derived from ancient Greek and Latin, the word butteri means 'someone who handles a team of oxen', and butteri have watched their herds here for thousands of years, even beating buffalo bill in a contest of horsemanship in 1890.

Horse riding in Tuscany is a special experience that should not be omitted from your travel itinerary if you want to immerse yourself in the ancient rural culture that has made this special region so famous.

This trail is not suitable for children under 14 years of age.
