Your private half day tour will begin after meeting up with your expert art-historian guide. Your first stop will be the awe-inspiring Duomo, or cathedral. Milan's Duomo is one of the biggest and most impressive Gothic cathedrals in the world, whose hundred-spire silhouette is to Milan what the Eiffel Tower is to Paris and Big Ben to London: a universally recognized symbol. You will then explore the nearby Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele II, an immense covered arcade with restaurants and shops. It is one of Europe’s great Victorian-era architectural extravaganzas and one of the few to survive. The legendary La Scala opera house was recently renovated to conserve its original 18th-century style and charm. Your guide will give you its history and explain how it has been in constant operation since 1778 and was once the world epicenter of all opera revolving around Giuseppe Verdi. Another treasure is Leonardo Da Vinci’s The Last Supper, tucked away in the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. With your guide, you will stroll the streets of the elegant fashion quarter to Via della Spiga and Via Montenapoleone, world famous for their designer boutiques. Another important highlight is the Sforzesco Castle, an amazing testament to Milan's history right in the center of the city, home to the mighty Sforza family for years as well as Leonardo Da Vinci.
