The wine challenge party was a triumph. Even the beer drinkers enjoyed it - and that's very unusual. Every moment was very carefully and lovingly handled. We all had a ball. Grazie tantissimi!!

We are back in Los Angeles now and all of us are wishing we were still in Italy!   But we have a show to produce, so we are hard at work putting this show together.

We want to thank everyone in Le Baccanti who was involved in planning our vacation for a job well done! We were feted with delicious food, had great wine and cheese, our guides were knowledgeable and passionate, and the hotels in Tuscany were some of the best that we had stayed. On top of it all, we were so relaxed throughout the holiday. It was simply perfecto.

Thank you again for making our vacation so memorable.

Dear Filippo,
I have been meaning to write to you since the exhibition closed in January.
Apologies for only getting round to it now .I have been kept quite busy by the new Director.

I thought you would be interested to know that the Renaissance Siena exhibition closed with over 69000 visitors.

I want to thank you formally for all your hard work and commitment in promoting both the exhibition and the City of Siena . Many of the ventures were a first time for the National Gallery and much of that was down to your creative thinking. You bought some fantastic ideas that I think were incredibly good. I was impressed by your energy and enthusiasm to make things happen.
I hope the next time we encounter someone such as yourself we will be better prepared to support these ideas.

I am enclosing a hard back copy of the catalogue for you. I wrote to Fiorenza a few weeks ago to thank her, I hope she received my letter.I will be senting Fiorenza copies of the press cutting book as promised – they are almost ready .

I very much enjoyed working with you as did everyone in my team. I hope we can meet again either in London or in Florence or Siena in not too long a distant future. Please convey my regards to your family.

Warmest regardas

Dear Suzanne,
Just a few words to thank you, Vanessa and the Baccanti team very much for your excellent work and preparation. As you predicted, we had a lovely weekend full of wine, cheese, salamis, laughter, outstanding landscapes and fun times. We enjoyed every moments, from the History lessons from Gastone, the great wines and cheeses from Pienza and Montalcino, the phenomenal olive oil (and much more) and the fabulous hotel - absolutely lovely and exactly what we were looking for for our incentive.
Again, thank you very much for an awesome job.

Just wanted to drop you a note to say how much our group enjoyed our day tour of San Gimignano and Volterra. The highlight was by far the lunch at the farm house. Sarah was so pleasant and helpful in explaining her farm and the area. All the information in the folders was helpful and easy to follow. The scootered tour to Volterra was a blast!

Vanessa, I would definately reccommend yourself and LeBacannti Tours to future friends traveling to Italy. Thank you so much again.

Hi Vanessa,
We did indeed have a successful meeting in Tuscany. The entire group was extremely satisfied with the hotel, the conference venue, the activities and the meals and wines. You really made everything go very smoothly. As I said to you in Florence, when all goes very well, you forget that there has been a lot of work and most probably headaches behind it. But believe me, I understand that it takes good organization to make it go so well.

I would like to thank you, Filippo and the rest of your team for the wonderful experience you organized for us.

Dear Vanessa,

Arrived home with a nasty head cold and sore feet but also with a head full of memories that will last forever.

The best things on our holiday? Your tours and meeting Joshua.

Sure, we saw the Pope while in Rome but that did not compare with seeing your brother. The only thing that would have made it more perfect? If you had also been there.

Forget that little place I was going to buy in Venice when I win the lottery...I'm now aiming for Lucca. Couldn't you live there, too? Our driver and our guides could have been selected by central casting. They were gracious, helpful, learned...and made us feel like friends and not part of their job. And riding through Florence with Vanni at the wheel was an e-ride at Disneyland!

The lunch at the saffron farm? Perfect in every way. Never remove it from your tour. And we were able to leave there with perfect gifts for friends at home.

Though this was not my first trip to Italy, it was comforting to see that the tower in Pisa is still leaning, that Venice is still afloat, the Last Supper has not faded away, all those steps in Boboli Gardens have not been replaced by escalators...but there is something that is hurting your country and it's us, the tourists.

I told Nancy on my first trip to Rome I could just walk into St. Peters, the Vatican, the Coliseum without standing in lines. That you could walk through the Forum and sit on a piece of marble to say hello to a friendly cat. You could actually walk across the Rialto Bridge without someone's elbow in your back! I can only imagine what it's like during the Summer months.

Thanks, again, for all you did. And hopefully you will soon be in the States nearby so we can still have that drink.

Warmest regards,

BB

Hello Vanessa.
Our tour was fantastic! Thank you so much for your guidance. Silvia was friendly, knowledgeable and a joy to spend the day with. The Cesani winery was beautiful and the wine was delicious. Lunch at Carmella's saffron farm was the best meal we had while we were in Italy. Even with the language barrier, my Mom made her way into Carmella's kitchen for tips. I will highly recommend your company to friends and colleagues.
All my best to you and say "hello" to Silvia.

THE TOUR WAS THOROUGH AND COMPLETE WITH DETAILS ON THE HISTORY OF ALL THE HIGHLIGHTED SIGHTS WE'D REQUESTED TO SEE. TOURS OF THE UFFIZI AND ACADEMIA WERE MORE THAN WE'D BARGAINED FOR EVEN THOUGH OUR TIRED FEET AND FACES DID NOT ALWAYS INDICATE. GABRIELLA WAS A WONDERFUL GUIDE WITH WHO PROVIDED MORE THAN EXPECTED IN THE WAY OF BACKGROUND HISTORY ON THE CITY, ITS ARCHITECTURE, MONUMENTS AND ART. It WAS AN AMBITIOUS AGENDA WHICH WE COULD ONLY HAVE ACCOMPLISHED WITH GABRIELLA -- SHE DELIVERED AS REQUESTED. I WAS ALSO IMPRESSED BY LE BACCANTI'S PROFESSIONALISM AND RESPONSIVENESS, WHICH
WAS NOT ALWAYS THE CASE WITH OTHER AGENCIES WE ENCOUNTERED IN OUR TRAVELS. I WILL DEFINITELY KEEP YOU ON MY LIST OF REFERRALS AND USE YOU AGAIN WHEN VISITING THE COUNTRY.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR MAKING OUR HOLIDAY IN ITALY ALL THE RICHER!

WARMEST REGARDS,

Vanessa

My husband and I returned from our holiday yesterday.

It was a pleasure and an honor to meet Filippo on the first day of our holiday when we had our time in Tuscany. I think my husband, Terry, could easily have spent more time with him to learn all he had to teach us about wine.

Thank you so much for arranging our Tuscan holiday. We had a fantastic time. The historical aspect of the holiday was something we should have anticipated, but really hadn't and was of great interest. The architecture that we were shown in Florence & Sienna and everywhere else in between was amazing. The visit to the wineries & vineyards with Filippo and Silvia were fascinating, especially to my husband who is keen on learning all he can about the grape, operation of a vineyard and all it entails. The hotels that you booked for us were all good, perhaps my favourite was the last one at Palazzo del Capitano as it was a beautiful room that we stayed in there.

Silvia was a great guide and I'm so glad it was she who did the driving for us on the “wrong side of the roadâ€Â, as we drive on the left like they do in the UK. We enjoyed her company and the knowledge that she shared with us. The saffron farm she took us to was fun and the owners seemed genuinely pleased to meet us as did the people in the various vineyards we visited. Suffice to say it was all good. Both my husband and I thought it was perhaps the best holiday we have ever had, so thank you yet again.

My husband has a firm dream of owning and operating a vineyard perhaps in Tuscany. It would be a help if we spoke Italian!

We are now dreaming about our next holiday, but the next Italy trip might be a couple of years down the road. Amarone and Barolo country come to mind.

Terry might end up writing Filippo under another email at some time as he truly is interested in learning more.

Regards
Holly & Terry Barrow

p.s. Congratulations on the birth of your daughter Daphne.

I thought my new daughter was nuts to attempt this wedding in Italy. Thanks to her tenacity and your planning, it is a memory which will be in our thoughts for the remainder of my life.

I would like to say thanks a million in Italy but I don't speak your language.

I did however learn to say one line very well......in fact perfectly. It brings a smile to many Italian's faces.

" Lo sono il direct to discendente di Cosimo de Medici. Sono tornato. Ridotemi le chiavi di Firenze"

Ciao Vanessa.

Hello Vanessa!

We're home and richer for the experiences -- thank you so much. We had a wonderful time there in Tuscany and can't express enough how outstanding a job you did in filling our days with interesting and fun-filled activities and sightseeing. We loved Tuscany and will certainly be adamant in recommending your services to our friends and
family who might like to see it for themselves. Wow.

Thank you to Filippo as well. He's a true gentleman, xtremely
knowledgeable and interesting and I know he was ever so gracious to spend an entire day with us -- cut out of an extremely busy schedule, I do know. We very much appreciate that and I want you to send me an address so that I may send him a special gift of appreciation.

Siena, yes, indeed was incredible. We loved that guide -- don't know her name but she's pictured here. She was a character -- very bohemian and peculiar -- totally interesting. I loved that! What's the name of the Siena cakes? The black pepper cakes? Silvia was going to write it down for us and then we forgot to do that. I want to order it for Christmas.

Riccardo was memorable too -- incredibly intelligent and rather entertaining. We really enjoyed him too. And Anna? Oh yes. Loved her just as much or more as anyone else the entire trip though sadly she was our last contact for the trip. We just like Italians I guess. ;-) Anna was awesome -- thank you for letting us meet her.

And then there's Silvia. Silvia was wonderful, of course. You knew that though -- and thank you for her. She smoothed the way everywhere -- our one constant -- so dependable and soft-spoken, professional and helpful. We are truly indebted for her services.

So --- thank you again. I'm sorry we didn't get to personally meet YOU but there's always next time, right? And please, Vanessa, know that you and Filippo are welcome to visit us in Chicago anytime.
We're in the process of buying a condo right in the downtown area and we would be honored to have you as our guests sometime in the future.
It'd be our turn and pleasure to show YOU around.

Thank you, dear, for everything. We had a wonderful trip.

Vanessa,
Hope things are well,
First let me say the trip you put together was beyond expectations. Your selection of hotels perfect and as last year everything was planned with much care!!
As to Piedmont, the wine tour and guide were very knowledgeable and friendly, three great wineries. Nice to have the small, medium and large. The lunch at the castle was unbelievably good, beautiful setting and excellent food!! It was 2.5 hours of pleasure (but this is the reason we could not go to dinner we were still just stuffed!!!)
I liked Barolo and the other towns we visited in Piedmont. Very different from Tuscany, the comparison was interesting.

The hotel in LaMorra was perfect, you stayed their as well.
I will let you know our thoughts on FL/Florence. We are still planning this but maybe next year??

Best regards,
Joe

I am so sorry that it has taken me so long to respond. We are still in such awe of our trip. I have to say that all 4 of us would love to do it all over again. David cannot wait to go back to Italy...hopefully within the next couple of years. The children also had such a wonderful experience that I believe they will never forget. The tours you arranged could not have been any better...the guides were all excellent and made the tours so enjoyable for all of us! The hotel in Rome was terrific. I could go on. If I know anyone going to Italy I will pass on your name. Thank you for making our trip such a wonderful experience and I hope to be in touch soon!!!(Very soon!)

I want to express our most sincere thanks for making this trip a very memorable and stress free experience.

You were very professional and efficient. I have not had such a wonderful experience working with any other travel agent ever.
All your guides and drivers were also wonderful. They were very accommodating, well informed and specially good with my grandchildren.

Elena and Paola were a lot of fun, Luca's knowledge was wonderful, John Paulo (?) was wonderful specially with Owen's problems and showing us Rome in 3 hours.
Roberto, Daniele and the other drivers were very efficient and professional.
Also the driver in Amalfi was excellent. He said it was the first time he worked for you company, they are very good.

Barbara and Antonio were great, nice boats and very relaxing time.

Thank you for a wonderful time and if you are ever in Houston, please let us know.

Thank you for all your help with the organisation – we certainly enjoyed ourselves so much mainly because of all the little touches from your involvement. Anyway, I'd better get on with some work! Thank you once again, and if we decide to come to Italy again next year I will certainly be in touch…. We will toast you when we open Paula's birthday bottle of Chianti – thank you!

Dear Vanessa:

My friend Cathy and I had a wonderful experience with Cecilia and Massimo. We did indeed gain some new culinary knowledge and skills, and in general, really enjoyed the hands on nature of the cooking class. Additionally, and as equally important, we found our hosts/teachers to be knowledgeable, personable and quite open to giving all they could to us as their students. We are leaving our tomato stained aprons as they are (at least for the time being) as tangible reminders of that special day. :0) We regard the class to be one of the high points of our two weeks in Italy, which is saying quite a lot, given the incredible trip that it was for both of us! We also consider ourselves fortunate to have met and spent time with Cecilia and Massimo and hope to visit them again in the future.

Thank you for your assistance while I was planning this part of our trip. We look forward to utilizing the offerings and services of Le Baccanti Tours again, when we return to Italy (which we most certainly will)!

Dear Vanessa,

The wine tour and the tour of Florence arranged by LeBaccanti were, in one word, outstanding! Everything worked out extremely well and we could not have beenmore pleased.

Most of the members of the group have been on a many tours, and it was the unanimous opinion that Fellipo and Lucca were the most professional, most knowledgeable, and most interesting guides we have ever had. They did a wonderful job.

The buses used to take the group on the tours were very comfortable. You provided us with two memorable experiences.

If you heard that there was a slight mix-up on the pickup time for the tour of Florence, let me assure you that it was my fault, and I apologize. I misread the information you sent me, and thought that the bus was to pickup the group at 9:00 AM. The information you sent clearly stated that we were to meet the guide in Florence at 9:00 AM, and the the bus would pickup the group at the villa at 7:50 AM. On a positive note, I did manage to learn something of future value from the experience: my family can dress and get ready to go quickly when they have to!

Thanks to LeBaccanti for a job well done.

Dear Vanessa,

Thankyou so much for your note. We had an absolutely AMAZING holiday in Tuscany!!!! I am sad its over! But we definately plan to return!

We all agreed that the walking wine tour in Chianti was the best highlight of the entire trip. Our guide, Manu, was so kind, informative, patient and fun to be with. She was very attentive to our needs and we laughed and enjoyed ourselves the whole day. Although Tuscany's beauty & culture leaves an immediate lifelong impression we will never forget - we admit that our guide made the day even more wonderful for us. Manu was very flexible and extremely easy to be with. We can't say enough about how much she made the day even more wonderful.

The tour was the perfect length of time & effort. In fact, we were so sad when it was over!! We enjoyed walking through the vinyards in the morning; meandering in the shady paths filled with wild and fragrant rosemary in bloom; learning how the Volpia olive oil is made; tasting different ages of the Volpia chianti with delcious pecorino, crostini and tomato salsa; learning how the wine is made and stored; lunch on the patio (the cheese ravioli with honey and walnut sauce was to die for!); sitting under the vine covered terrace tasting wines at the second winery with the family dog, Lola and getting to know the owner; and finally returning to the quaint town of Radda to taste more delicious local delicacies at the deli...salami, pate, and more.

In summary - we had an experience we will never forget and certainly tell our children about someday.

Sincere thanks for all the help you gave us to help make our holiday one of the best we have ever had! We will definately recommend LeBaccanti Tours to anyone we know visiting Tuscany. And we plan to call on you again when we return!

What a great time we had! After years of hearing about this place in the clouds called Tuscany you showed it to me in all its beauty, history, and delights for gourmet palates. I'm recommending you to many Europe-bound friends for 2004

We used to think wine was wine, some better, some worse, but basically all pretty much the same, olive oil was olive oil, Italian cooking was pepperoni pizzas and spaghetti. Sounds impossible, but believe us, in that wonderful week you changed our life style! Thank you, and we'll be back, to you and lovely Tuscany!

A dream vacation is the first phrase that comes to mind upon reflection of our trip.  From the first time I was in contact with Carrie, I felt that our group was in good hands.  Having never been to Tuscany before, I was a little overwhelmed with all the possibilities of the week.  Given the additional challenges of some physical limitations of my parents, I was also apprehensive about not doing enough for some and too much for my parents.  Carrie set me at ease very quickly.  She was so patient with all our changes in the itinerary, until we finally got to a week that seemed ideal for our group size and members of various ages.  Our guides were all wonderful and again very aware of my parents need to walk slowly up hills and take rests when needed.  Never did we feel rushed or like we "had" to do anything.  Our driver Leonardo, was the best, he was also so patient with our changes and would stop anywhere we asked him, it was a pleasure everyday getting onto that bus with him!  One of the nicest things about traveling with just our groups and guides was that if we wanted to change something (within reason) we could do so. One of our favorite mornings was as we entered Volterra.  Our wonderful guide asked us what we would like to do first and we all answered, "get coffee!"  We ended up spending the next 1.5 hours in the most delightful little cafe, tasting the most delicious Italian treats and drinking the best cappuccinos we have ever had....it was just so relaxed and fun.  Each day brought a new and special memory.  Each day also brought an extra pound or two on our bodies.  Our chef was incredible!! The evenings back at the villa were the best.  Relaxing, drinking wine and eating some of the best food we have ever had, made our evenings at the villa our most memorable and enjoyable.  The last evening was made very special with a "wine challenge" testing all of the knowledge we had learned through the week at various wineries (which were fabulous too!).  I have nothing negative to say about our week, my family described it as "magical".  I have been fortunate enough to travel around the world and go on some incredible journeys, but this trip to Tuscany just can't be touched.  Wonderful memories with my family and friends will stay with me forever, thanks in a large part due to Lebaccanti.  We can't wait to book our next trip with them, Amalfi Coast watch out, here we come!!

Just a quick note to thank all at Le Baccanti for making our stay in Rome so very memorable.
The trip to Orvieto was great. Chris
was brilliant as both driver and guide and we really had a very
enjoyable day. Our walking tour the following day was equally good. Our guide was so pleasant and we really enjoyed feeling more like
locals than tourists, as we worked our way through areas of Rome, cafe's, bars, markets etc that are less well known. Finally the cooking with chef Guido was absolutely fantastic. He, his wife and their assistant were so friendly and made us feel so welcome, that we could have stayed with them a week! At all times everyone was courteous and warm. We tried great food and wine, the hotel was really smart, so the weekend was just perfect!
Thank you all again and best wishes!

I would like to thank you for making my trip to Italy so wonderful.  I spent two weeks in Italy traveling from Venice to Rome and enjoyed my time in Tuscany with LeBaccanti the best.  I wished I had let you plan the rest of my trip.  From the first day that Silvia picked us up in Florence for our first wine tour to the last day when she dropped us off in Florence from our sixth wine tour, it was so well planned.  Silvia was interesting, knowledgeable and just pure fun. She took us to a new town every day, planned two winery visits and tastings per day, then a trip for lunch and shopping into a medieval city.  We traveled to Chianti, San Gimignano, and Montepulciano. The wineries were small and wonderful and the towns were fascinating. Sylvia was always on time, very attentive, and drove like a race car driver.  I will definitely use Le Baccanti again and will recommend you to anyone traveling to Italy.  Mille Grazie. Hope to see you soon.
P.S. The cooking class in Florence with Anna was a blast!  I can't stop talking about it. I now make tagliolini with leek sauce, ravioli, biscotti, and brushchetta the Italian way. Thanks a  million.
