Bolgheri, the Supertuscan capital, and Giosu Carducci, Nobel prize winning poet, are intricately linked.Bolgheri was home to the poet in his adolescence, and Carducci in turn dedicated one of his most famous poems (San Guido) to this Tuscan town and its famous Lane of Cypresses (Viale dei Cipressi). One hundred years have passed since Carduccieuros death. It is a poignant occasion to revisit this relationship by visiting Bolgheri, passing through the beautiful Viale dei Cipressi and tasting the superlative wine born in these lands: Sassicaia.
