Le Baccanti promotes the euroArt x Wine = Watereuro Charity campaign by offering its financial and logistical support to The Arte alleuroArte project (Arte Continua Association). The initiative is part of the U.N. 2003 campaign euroWorld Year for Watereuro and is also supported by Vicente Teodol, Director of the London Tate Modern.The aim of the project is to raise funds for the creation of drinking water wells in particularly troubled areas of the planet. The sites are located in Brazil, Palestine, Israel, Senegal and Indonesia. The Association cooperates with the Tuscan Regional Administration and directly with the beneficiaries. All funds are processed on an official account of the Tuscan Regional Administration (Regione Toscana). The fund raising started in November 2003. A limited number of very special wine cases was put out for a charity sale. The first fund raising event was held in Siena and was presented by Filippo Bartolotta. Events in New York and London followed in 2004. Each case contains six prestigious wines labeled with the designs of six major contemporary artists: Lothar Baumgarten, Richard Hamilton, Roni Horn, Cildo Meireles, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Gilberto Zorio. The wines are: Nobile di Montepulciano - Avignonesi, Summus - Banfi, Brunello di Montalcino - Il Poggione, Chianti Classico - Castello di Ama, Luenzo - Cesani, Vernaccia Riserva di San Gimignano - Panizzi.Each case also includes a limited-edition portfolio of autographed reproductions of the labels (50x36 cm) and the tasting notes of the wines by Filippo Bartolotta.
