CurtisOn January 23rd The Culinary Center of Kansas City welcomed Filippo Bartolotta and forty wine lovers from the area to an entertaining and informative evening of wine tasting and wine and food pairing. Chef Matt Chatfield preparedCumin Cured Salmon on Crostini,Bruschetta w/ Balsamic Figs and Goat Cheese prepared with Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Modena Malpighi and Prosciutto di Parma DOP. Plated Tapas includedWild Mushroom Risotto w/ Truffle Oil,Lamb Kebab w/ Pomegranate Glaze,Seared Pork Tenderloin w/ Grape Tomato Chutney.During the evening Filippo presented the famous Super Tuscan Grattamacco 2001 and the less known yet excellent Collemassari Montecucco Riserva 2004, Arnaldo Caprai's excellent Sagrantino di Montefalco 2005, the sunny Montevertrano 2005, Cepparello 2006 and Uvaggio 2005 of cult wine maker Paolo de Marchi, top class San Leonardo 2004 of Tenute San Leonardo, Castello di Monsanto's terrific Chianti Classico 2006, Panizzi's zesty Vernaccia of San Gimignano Cru Santa Margherita 2006, Giacosa's memorable Barolo 2005 and Friggiali's classy Brunello 2004Cheeses and Dessert included assorted Italian Cheeses with Fruits and assorted euroChefeuros Choiceeuro chocolatesserved with the rare Aleatico of Elba Tenuta delle Ripalte 2006, made by the patient work of Mr Meletti Cavallari.For more information on Italy at Your Table events please contact www.lebaccanti.com
